Mark Eldridge has been a car audio enthusiast since he bought his first vehicle in 1978.  Since that time, the pursuit of the highest performance car audio has been, and continues to be a never-ending pursuit and passion.

Mark received his Mechanical Engineering B.S. degree from Texas A&M University in 1986.  He worked for General Dynamics on the F-16 and A-12 projects until 1988, at which time he joined the Air Force Reserve as a pilot.  He finished as the Top Graduate in USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training, and went on to fly C-130s for the Reserves and Texas Air National Guard until 1997.

Mark began serious work in the car audio industry in 1990, installing his first competition system in the 4Runner.  In 1991, he joined forces with Autosound 2000, developing training seminars, implementing product consulting and testing, writing technical papers, and involvement with many other projects.

Mobile Soundstage Engineering (MSE) was founded by Mark in 1993, to build specialty car audio system components, to support car audio competition efforts, and as a consulting company for highly technical audio system design, fabrication, and tuning.  MSE also teaches technical seminars and workshops each year, with topics ranging from basic technical information to the most highly specialized sound quality and installation techniques in the industry.  We have written many technical, editorial, and product review articles for publication in magazines.  Mark is also a moderator in several different industry internet forums.

Mark’s most recognized accomplishments have been in the car audio competition arena.  Over the past 17 years, Mark has had a direct impact on many of the top vehicles in the competition lanes.  Many of these vehicles have won World and National Championships.  The most notable vehicles have been Mark’s 1987 Toyota 4Runner, and his 2005 Dodge NASCAR Charger.  The 4-Runner won 38+ World, National, and other Major Championship Titles and over 250 trophies from 1993 until 2005 when it was retired from competition.

Mark's newest vehicle, the Dodge Charger, has only been on the show circuit and in competition for two years, and has already won several World and National Championships!  It is a former NASCAR Sprint Cup race car, converted to one-of-a-kind show quality, street drivable vehicle, with two seats, full custom interior, concert quality audio/video system, and more features than can be described here.  It is working across the country on display at NASCAR races, providing support for injured U.S. Military veterans, serving in charitable and ministry functions, and providing tremendous entertainment for the crowds at every event it attend!

Both vehicles have been featured in numerous magazine articles around the World, with hundreds of mentions in competition coverage articles and interviews, and have been used in numerous manufacturers’ advertisements.

Mark and Mobile Soundstage Engineering’s involvement in the competition/show arena isn’t limited to individual vehicles. We have also been directly involved in three of the most successful car audio competition teams in car audio history.  The MTX Thunderforce (1996-1997), the Kicker Competition Group (1998 – 2003), and Team JBL (2003 – 2004) were all at the top of the competition heap, dominating the competition lanes.  Mark was directly involved in running each program during its peak performance.

Our future lies in building custom cars for corporations, individuals, and organizations that can take advantage of a very powerful promotional tool for marketing, advertising, fund raising, morale boosting, personal enjoyment, and everything else possible!  Expanding our support of charitable organizations and U.S. Military veteran support is also high in priority.  We will continue teaching technical seminars and classes within the car audio industry, promoting the highest caliber knowledge, skills, and techniques.  And, our technical and marketing consulting programs will continue to grow as well.

And most importantly, our passion for custom cars and high-end audio will push us even further towards creating the most unique and radical vehicles in the World!

Accomplishments and Titles

The M.S.E. 4-Runner won more major competition titles in its 13 years in competition than any other vehicle in the history of car audio competition.  Project One,  the 2005 Dodge NASCAR Charger, is now continuing in this winning tradition. We have also designed and built Championship winning vehicles for many other companies and individuals.

Additionally, our vehicles are consistently displayed at major shows and events every year, including CES, SEMA, NASCAR races, and many of the large events around the country.

This is a partial list of the major titles and awards received, and some of the major show/event appearances to date.  In total, well over 200 competition event wins and numerous major event and show appearances have been logged so far, with many more to come.
